DuoCurve
Duocurve is the first in-house product by Studio Corthals Loïc, developed as an exploration of how layered forms can shape and soften light. Instead of hiding the light source behind a traditional lampshade, the lamp uses overlapping elements that diffuse the brightness and create a warm ambient glow.
The composition of layers allows the lamp to shift in scale and presence. By combining different elements, the object can adapt from a compact, intimate light to a more sculptural presence within a space.
At its core, Duocurve brings together two different worlds of making. The aluminium base is CNC machined for precision and structural clarity, while the leather elements are precisely cut and then carefully stitched and finished. The result is a balance between digital manufacturing and refined craftsmanship.
The interaction is intentionally minimal. There is no visible switch; the lamp is turned on and dimmed simply by touching the aluminium base, allowing the object to remain pure in form while the light responds intuitively to the user.
Duocurve is produced in Belgium in collaboration with Bluestar, a family company with more than a century of experience in leather craftsmanship. This first production run marks the beginning of the studio’s collection.
